Today we took a trip to a local bakery to make bread. We ate cheese pies (my favorite), a nutella filled bun, cookies, bagels, and so much bread. I am so impressed by the fresh ingredients and products the bakery had to offer. It was clear the owner not only had an enormous amount of passion for baking and continuing a trait passed down by his father, but also providing his neighbors and community with fresh bread. The communitarian aspect of the people here is unlike any other place I've been. It has been so refreshing to be surrounded by such generosity and humanity.

  1. You're absolutely right about the communitarian aspect on Crete...every person we have been introduced to has been so friendly and kind.
