The Manousakis Winery in Vatollakos was so pretty and I learned a lot about the winemaking process and our guide was great and upbeat. We got a tour of the grounds and the wine cellar and learned about oak and steel barrels and felt the bark that is used for the cork for the bottles.
The two dogs never tired of running around endlessly and scaring Hoodo. But they couldn't distract us enough from the amazing wine and scenery. It was surprising to find out there aren't any vineyards at the winery because of the soil in the valley. All of the vineyards are on the mountains in Crete. I think it was a great day and that everyone enjoyed the experience.
